I am infuriated by the Loose Women discussion the other week about plus size women.
Jamelia's opinion more than the other ladies! I understand that ideally we want women to lead a healthy lifestyle and be a healthy weight/size. What is that to say someone who wears a size 20 doesn't lead a healthy life style?
Why should it matter if someone is a size 22 or a size 6? I think we are all beautiful in our own way and is long as we are happy with the way we look and feel it shouldn't matter what people think. I suppose that's what it all comes down to what other people think! Nobody is perfect. I bet Jamilia has flaws that she isn't happy about her appearance but will judge other people. The same as I may look at somebody famous and think wow they look amazing, I wish I had their figure...that person might be thinking I hate how big my hips are or something. So I guess what I'm trying to say is we will always hate something about our own appearance and envy those who have the figure/appearance that we want.
The thing that is bugging me is this "healthy lifestyle" how do we define healthy lifestyle?
(Left to right - May 2013 - Feb 2014 - Jan 2015 - April 2015)
I'm 23 years old almost 24. I'm between sizes depending on the store I buy from generally a 20 or 22. I have a condition which leaves me wheelchair-bound with very little exercise actually... no exercise. I eat a relatively balanced diet...we all like a treat now and then! I have lost 2 1/2 stone in almost three years. That might not seem like a lot to the average Joe but it's pretty good for those who can't exercise to burn off fat. I recently had blood tests to test my cholesterol etc and they all came back good...HEALTHY! So do I lead a healthy lifestyle? Who knows!I don't think I do, I don't think anyone does! I don't think it's healthy to drink protein shake's all day..,I also don't think it's healthy to eat takeaway every night. Those people who are obsessed with fitness probably don't lead a "healthy lifestyle" but those who don't do anything probably don't lead a "healthy lifestyle" either! Because there is no right or wrong lifestyle...it's how you perceive a healthy lifestyle.
What are your thoughts on this subject of healthy/plus size?
