January favourites 2015

January favourites, the first favourites of the year and for the first time on my blog.
I wanted to do a 2014 roundup favourites but was a little late so I figured I'd do my January favourites which could also combine into what I got for Christmas I suppose ;)
I have filmed my January favourites on my YouTube channel it was a colab with Sarah V. All links below :)

It's been absolutely freezing during January and my skin has suffered for it thank goodness for the Clinique moisture surge moisturiser. I've been using this for a few months now but have definitely been reaching for it more this month as my skin is really dry. I love that this is very light on the skin and feels more like gel texture than creamy like most moisturisers. I like to put a thick coat/layer on at night so that it sinks in throughout the night and just a small amount in the morning after cleansing - perfect!

To go with my Clinique moisture surge moisturiser I have been using my
Laura Mercier primer (thanks Santa).
This primer is also gel like it feels like
Moisturiser before applying my foundation. We all hate it when your foundation clings to dry patches and makes you look like flake face! This primer seems to smooth over your face making it a great base for your foundation. It's quite pricey but definitely worth it.

I suppose I should tell you what foundation I have been using after applying all these moisturisers and primers ;)
Dior skin star foundation - it's marvellous!
they say that it's used in studios, so perfect for picture taking.
I'd say it's medium coverage and definitely buildable it just looks like perfect skin. I'm in love with this foundation, it blends easily I use the real techniques buffing brush as to most people by the looks of it - haha.

I have been reaching for my YSL
Rouge Volupte lipstick in nude beige (01)
It's a nude pink.  I would say it's one of those your lips but better colours but I think it's a bit lighter than  my natural lip shade. It's the perfect every day throw on lipstick - ready to go!

I have been loving my Marks & Spencer's cape. It's a black fleece material with a leopardprint fur trim around the neck and sleeves. It's been perfect for this cold snowy weather we've been having in England recently. I am channeling my inner Cruella De Ville ;).

I have been obsessed with the TV program 'Stella' (Sky 1 -uk) it is set in Wales written and starring Ruth Jones (Ness - Gavin & Stacey). This month I have watched series 1, 2 and 3 and am waiting for series 4 to be released next month. It's about a woman who has three children and has pretty much brought them up single-handedly. We follow her hardships of money and love life - however it is a comedy drama so like most would laugh and cry and then laugh again. Give it a watch because it's took me so long to get round to watching it and it's brilliant!

I also met GRACE HELBIG this month!!! WHAT? Yes it's true i met the brilliant, beautiful and funny Grace Helbig. Don't believe me? WELL we vlogged it!!(on Sarah V's channel links below) So you can see the moment - oh what a beautiful moment it was.
She did a UK book tour of her book Grace's Guide: The Art of Pretending to be a Grown-Up. Me and my best friend Sarah went along to Birmingham signing - it was amazing :D

10 Years on

Just sat minding my own...well actually browsing through ASOS with the telly on in the background and I see my back surgeon from 10 years ago. BBC 2 Hospital series 3  a documentary on Nottingham QMC hospital around the time of a bed crisis. A young boy of 12 was about to undergo a spinal fusion by the best surgeon Micheal Grevitt (my doctor). The documentary was a brilliant insight into how the NHS is suffering. Staff overworked, patients distressed waiting for beds, treatment and then a lack of social care funding. An experience I didn't have 10 years ago. The program brought back some memories, least to say some painful memories - literally painful. August 2007 I went to QMC to have the biggest operation I'd ever had or probably will ever have. I make myself laugh to be honest because now at 26 I'd be shitting myself but not at 16 -  bitch be fearless! Obvz I was nervous but I was optimistic almost unbeatable! My mum looked petrified...the woman is scared of hospital

MAXFACTOR CREME PUFF BLUSHES

(30 Gorgeous Berries) When i saw the release of these blushers i was skeptical because of the Creme element - instantly thought STICKY. The MaxFactor Creme Puff Blusher are new to the drugstore in the UK ( Boots & Superdrug ). There are 6 shades in this range. When swatching i thought glitterin'hell - i'll look like a disco ball with these blushes! The lighter shades such as 5 Lovely Pink and 10 Nude Mauve may be more of a highlight for medium skin tones. I have seen that these blushes are a DUPE for Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers  which are £28! In my eyes that makes these MaxFactor blushes a  bargain  at £8.99!  Im not sure if some shades are online exclusives as i was looking for 20 Lavish Mauve , it was impossible to find!  I bought mine in the shade 30 Gorgeous Berries . Gorgeous Berries is the darkest blusher in the range. It is what it says on the tin, its a berry shade (I ts a purpley/Pinky shade ). The formula is a powder and a highly p

#MYBEAUTIFULSTRUGGLE

I don't really know what I'm going to call this blog post. I have to discuss Jordan Bone's latest YouTube video "My beautiful struggle". This video had over 25,000 views in 24 hours! ( Congratulations Jordan) . The point of this video was for Jordan to show her viewers The struggle she has to apply make up. It's almost like a behind-the-scenes about how difficult it was to learn to do her make up. She is a positive, beautiful, ambitious inspiration which makes her the perfect role model for so many different people not just those with disabilities. It's not easy to put a video like this online for everyone to see. To admit that you can't do most things for yourself and have to ask for help with everything is difficult. Down to silly little things to normal people ( able people ), like brushing your own hair or dressing yourself. Do you take that for granted ? Maybe ? You probably don't even realise your morning routine is completel
