Essence make up review (Wilkos)

Recently I took a trip to wilkinson'a (wilkos) I didn't realise they had make up stands such as Maybeliene, Rimmel, Collection, Maxfactor and Essence. I was so excited have a browse and swatch at the Essence products. Heres what i brought and what i thought…haha rhymes ;)

Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 18 - £2.50

I love eyeshadow actually I'm obsessed with eyeshadow and when I saw these metallic glittery goodness I had to swatch! They are very glittery more than metallic but I assumed that was because I was sticking my fingers in it in the shop and not using a brush.

I choose to buy the shade choco chic because it was a brown/bronze colour and those are my favourites.  Above I have taken a picture after just applying it. I used flash because you couldn't quite see the colour payoff without. The glitter in the pan seems to disappear after you used the eyeshadow a few times which is a little disappointing because I like the glitter. I do you really like this Eyeshadow, it seems to have little fallout which is good for the price and bonus it's very long-lasting I don't really use a primer with it and it doesn't seem to crease so thumbs up for that!!

Essence Make me brow 02 - £2.50

I have been looking for something less pricier to replace my Benefit Gimme Brow (£18.50).  I've tried a few "drugstore" alternatives such as the Rimmel Brow this way Gel..its awful! However this Essence eyebrow gel is a little closer to the Benefit one, the brush wand is pretty much the same thats why i like it because its a small applicator. I use this for ease and quickness...you know those days!

Essence longlasting lipstick 07 - £2.30

I loved these lipsticks when i swatched them in store. I'm obsessed with brown and pink nudes at the moment so when I swatched these two lipsticks they were perfect colour wise. They claim to be long-lasting however I found they only lasted a couple of hours... if eating not at all! I tried them with a lip liner also and that didn't seem to make a difference.
Essence Longlasting Lipstick Nude 05 - £2.30
The finish of these are quite sheer, they feel a little bit like a balm. What put me off the most when wearing them is the smell. They smell really cheap...well I suppose they are only £2.30! They definitely aren't my favourite but probably worth a try if you're starting out with makeup or experimenting with lipstick shades, this way you're not spending too much money.

Essence Lipliner 06 Satin mauve - £1.00
This was my bargain buy at £1.00 it's a blooming good liner! It's one of those Kylie Jenner shades actually it's a perfect Kylie Jenner shade! It's creamy and easy to apply it also sharpens well which In the past I've found some liners don't. I wouldn't say it's very long-lasting which is something that I do like in a Lipliner/base, but then I wasn't expecting much for £1.00. I'm definitely going to buy more shades and see how they go because I like this one :).

Let me know if you have tried anything from essence and if there's anything you recommend...

10 Years on

Just sat minding my own...well actually browsing through ASOS with the telly on in the background and I see my back surgeon from 10 years ago. BBC 2 Hospital series 3  a documentary on Nottingham QMC hospital around the time of a bed crisis. A young boy of 12 was about to undergo a spinal fusion by the best surgeon Micheal Grevitt (my doctor). The documentary was a brilliant insight into how the NHS is suffering. Staff overworked, patients distressed waiting for beds, treatment and then a lack of social care funding. An experience I didn't have 10 years ago. The program brought back some memories, least to say some painful memories - literally painful. August 2007 I went to QMC to have the biggest operation I'd ever had or probably will ever have. I make myself laugh to be honest because now at 26 I'd be shitting myself but not at 16 -  bitch be fearless! Obvz I was nervous but I was optimistic almost unbeatable! My mum looked petrified...the woman is scared of h...

MAXFACTOR CREME PUFF BLUSHES

(30 Gorgeous Berries) When i saw the release of these blushers i was skeptical because of the Creme element - instantly thought STICKY. The MaxFactor Creme Puff Blusher are new to the drugstore in the UK ( Boots & Superdrug ). There are 6 shades in this range. When swatching i thought glitterin'hell - i'll look like a disco ball with these blushes! The lighter shades such as 5 Lovely Pink and 10 Nude Mauve may be more of a highlight for medium skin tones. I have seen that these blushes are a DUPE for Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers  which are £28! In my eyes that makes these MaxFactor blushes a  bargain  at £8.99!  Im not sure if some shades are online exclusives as i was looking for 20 Lavish Mauve , it was impossible to find!  I bought mine in the shade 30 Gorgeous Berries . Gorgeous Berries is the darkest blusher in the range. It is what it says on the tin, its a berry shade (I ts a purpley/Pinky shade ). The formula is a powde...

July Favourites 2015

Not many make up favourites this month because I haven't been wearing much make up recently.  New to me this month the Bourjois colour boost lip crayon in peach on the beach. A Tescos bargain find at £2!! It's a glossy finish which needs reapplying a few times. It feels like to lip balm but with a decent colour payoff.  My Nars radiant creamy concealer has been my best friend this month! (Running out - cry!). I have been on antibiotics this month which have caused me to break out... Good old concealer! It's an oldie but a goodie. If you haven't heard of this product then it's really worth the money because it covers well, lasts all day and doesn't crease.  Paired with concealer I have been wearing my Mac mineralise skin finish powder in medium plus. Which is also running out! Brilliant for a "no makeup makeup", great coverage without looking "powdery".  The Maxfactor 2000 calorie mascara is...
